Canon PIXMA iP3000
An easy to use photo printer, the Canon PIXMA iP3000 offers good quality photos at an astonishing speed even while printing out the standard business applications.
Encompassed in a bread-box design, the dark grey casing doesn’t make it look all that trendy.
Having dimensions of 6.8 x 16.5 x 10.8-inches (HxWxD), iP3000 is inclusive of two USB connectors; USB 1.1 positioned at the back and another USB in the front which facilitates printing directly from a PictBridge compatible camera.
Other major customer friendly features comprise top-grade paper handling for the ink jet by means of duplex printing and two paper input trays, which have a combined capacity of 300 sheets. As on a number of Canon photo printers, iP3000 also utilizes four ink colours with one cartridge for each.
Like mentioned in the beginning, the speed of performance is exceptionally fast. PIXMA iP3000 averages 6.64 ppm for text. The photo suite needs only a minute 7 seconds for 4 x 6 photos and 2 minutes and 34 seconds for 8 x 10s. Not many in the Canon photo printer category have managed to surpass this as yet.
But the real big surprise comes when you note the amazingly low amount of time required for business applications suite- it takes all of 15 minutes and 48 seconds.
However, the overall print quality doesn’t match up to the speeds delivered. Colour photos are good but the monochrome pictures look dull in many places. Text prints won’t give you any reason to complain except when you are trying out stylized text for which you will have to use only big fonts. Graphic quality isn’t too superior either. A lot of the prints look pixillated with black spots at many places.
Canon PIXMA iP3000 is available with an industry-standard one-year warranty. In addition, you get access to toll-free tech support on weekdays.
Though the output quality isn’t out of this world, the ease of usage and rapid pace of printing certainly cannot be ignored.
