HP Pavilion zv6000 Notebook PC series
Featuring a 15.4-inch widescreen display, the HP ZV6000 notebook PC weighs 3.6 kg (7.9-pound) which makes it slightly on the heavier side. But it does come with some impressive features like the integrated Wi-Fi, and ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M graphics.
Operating on Microsoft Windows XP, the notebook provides nice entertainment with the help of stereo speakers, video, photography and music software.
Powered by an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor with a Cool'n'Quiet technology, the processor speed is 2.0 GHz. System bus has a speed of up to 2000 MHz when running at AD mode. zv6000 comes with Level 2 cache of 512 KB. Standard memory of the notebook is 512 MB with maximum expansion capability of 2 GB. The internal hard disk drive has a capacity of 60 GB with the speed of 4200 rpm. Optical drive made use of is the DVD Writer dual format (+/-R +/-RW) with Double Layer support.
Network interface is the integrated 10/100 LAN Ethernet.
Wireless connectivity features comprise the integrated 802.11b/g WLAN. Some models include Bluetooth technology.
A 6-in-1 Digital Media Reader facilitates quick and simple file transfer. The Memory Card Device is compatible with xD, SD, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Multimedia Card.
Some of the external I/O ports present are 4 USB 2.0, 1 IEEE 1394; 1 VGA, 1 headphone-out; 1 microphone-in etc.
One type I or II PC card slot. CardBus-enabled One ExpressCard/54 slot are the expansion slots.
The 15.4-inch WXGA High Definition Widescreen display has a resolution of 1280x800.
ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M IGP graphics have the capacity of holding 128 MB of dedicated video memory.
The 3D Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound 16 bit make up the internal audio features.
For power supply, utilize the 120 W AC Power Adapter. Battery used is 8-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) which can run for a good 2.5 hours.
Among the software available are Microsoft Works Suite 2005, Microsoft Works 8.0, Microsoft Money Standard 2005, Photo Premium 10 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.
Optical drive driver software include InterVideo WinDVD, Sonic RecordNow, Microsoft Windows Media Player 9, Apple iTunes etc.
Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2005 (60 day liveupdates) is the security software.
Having dimensions of 36.2cm (W) x 28.4cm (L) x 4.56cm (H), it comes with a 1 year warranty on pick-up and return, parts and labour.

HP Pavilion ZV6000 notebook gives you good performance at an affordable cost of $850. One of its best aspects is its wide screen and also of course its not-too-bulkiness. I also bought because it runs on AMD Athlon processor without making quite a ruckus. I am satisfied.
