HP Pavilion zv6200 Notebook PC series
Running on Microsoft Windows XP, the HP Pavilion zv6200 notebook PC encloses a 15.4-inch widescreen display with desktop PC functionality and good mobility features.
The AMD Athlon processor is used with the Cool'n'Quiet Technology. System bus has a speed of up to 2000 MHz running at AC/DC Mode 89 Watt. You are provided with a Level 2 Cache of 512 KB. Standard memory of the notebook is 1024 MB and the maximum upgradeable limit is 2 GB.
Internal hard disk drive can have a 100/80 GB memory with the speed of 4200 rpm.
DVD Writer Dual Format (+/-R +/-RW) with Double Layer support is the optical drive type. With the help of the LightScribe Direct Disc Labelling technology (available on select models), it is possible to burn stylish labels onto CDs and DVDs. This can be done by burning the content, then reversing the disc and burning your personalised label on the other side.
It offers nice entertainment features thanks to the Altec Lansing stereo speakers, DVD technology and impressive entertainment software.
To fulfil your connectivity desires on some models you will find the standard 802.11b/g WLAN while others offer Bluetooth.
A 6-in-1 Digital Media Reader compliant with xD, SD, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Multimedia Card is responsible for speedy file transfer.
The integrated 10/100 LAN Ethernet is the network interface.

120 W AC Power Adapter is the power supply source and 8-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) is the battery utilized. Battery life of 2.5 hours is pretty much average.
Software features are plenty. You will find Microsoft Works 8.0, Microsoft AutoRoute 2005, Microsoft Money Standard 2005, Microsoft Picture It! Photo Premium 10., Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and Adobe Reader 6.0 etc. Some of the optical drive software are InterVideo WinDVD 5.0, Sonic MyDVD, Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 and Apple iTunes.
Symantec Norton Internet Security 2005 (60-day liveupdate) is the security feature included.
Weighing 3.6 kg (7.97 lbs), it’s only slightly on the heavier side and has dimensions of 36.2 cm x 28.4 cm x 4.56 cm.
Warranty features comprise 1 year, pick-up and return, parts and labour.

Don't expect heavy duty performance from this notebook
The HP zv6200 has widescreen, bigger-than-average memory capacity, weighs almost 4kg, has a solid feel to it, but, sadly, I was disappointed - the hardware is not built for intensive usage i.e. > 15 hours every day, heavy duty graphics work, etc. Either the hardware heats up or the battery does. The battery itself lasts just about as much as any other battery sold in the market.
