HP Pavilion dv4200 Notebook PC series
The HP Pavilion dv4200 Notebook PC encloses a 15.4-inch WXGA High Definition BrightView widescreen display with resolution of 1280 x 800 and offers good mobility along with digital entertainment features.
With dimensions of 35.84 cm (W) x 25.78 cm (L) x 3.35 cm (H), it is reasonably light at 2.97 kg.
Running on Microsoft Windows XP operating system, you can enjoy watching films and gaming thanks to the widescreen display. Images are highly comprehensive and sharp owing to the presence of ATI Mobility Radeon X700. (also on chosen models). On other models you will find the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900.
Prominent features include a 6-in-1 Digital Media Reader compliant with xD, SD, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Multimedia Card and USB 2.0 ports which facilitates easy and rapid file transfer.
Courtesy the HP Image Zone software which comes pre-installed on the PC; you can deal with all your digital media- for storing, printing or sharing.
Processor technology used is the Intel Celeron or Pentium processor with the Intel’s Speed Step technology. Processor speed options are in the region 1.40 to 1.86 GHz. System bus speed can be 400 MHz or 533 MHz. You can have a Level 2 cache of 1MB or Level 2 cache of 2MB.
Standard memory for the various models varies between 256 MB to 1024 MB. Maximum memory capability is either 1 GB or 2 GB. The internal hard disk drive can have a capacity of 40, 80 or 100 GB with the speed being 4200 rpm. Video RAM shares 128 MB or 64 MB of dedicated memory.
Optical drive options include the DVD Writer Dual Format (+/-R +/-RW). On select you have the LightScribe DVD Writer Dual Format (+/-R +/-RW) courtesy which you can burn personalized labels.
10/100 LAN Ethernet integrated is the Network interface.
For wireless connectivity, you either are provided with the 54g 802.11b/g WLAN or Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 802.11b/g Integrated Wireless LAN. On certain models, you will also find the Bluetooth feature.
HP Mobile Remote Control is an optional feature.
Expansion slots are the One ExpressCard/54 slot or One type I or II PC card slot.
Audio features comprise the 3D Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound 16 bit integrated and Altec Lansing speakers.
6-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) is the battery used.
Some of the software included are Microsoft Works 8.0, Microsoft Works Suite 2005, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Microsoft Outlook Express; Adobe Reader 6.0.
For security you are provided with the Symantec Norton Internet Security 2005.
