HP Compaq nc6220 Business Notebook PC
Sophistically styled in corporate all black, the nc6220 is slim and sleekly built giving it a nice professional feel.
The framework is sturdy and feels solid but the manufactures have taken care not to make the equipment very heavy. Its weight of 2.8kg and dimensions of 316 x 256 x 36mm are more than acceptable.
Keyboard is well-built with nice designing enabling comfort of use. Both the touch pad and pointing stick options are present allowing the users to decide which is easier for them to operate. Also, rubberised mouse buttons are elevated enabling simple accessing of keys.
Some models makes use of Intel’s new Sonoma technology which comprises the 915 chipset responsible for an increased bus speed of 533MHz, and also better, enhanced graphics, audio and the PCI-Express.
The Intel Pentium M processor used can have a speed of either 1.73 GHz or 1.86 GHz, depending on the model.
When running at 1.73 GHz, with the standard 512 MB memory and the internal hard disk capacity of 40 GB (some models have 60 GB), nc6220 wasn’t found to be super-quick, but considering the features, it was efficient.
Striking was the battery life of over five hours which allows you to use it for a big duration of the day without the need for recharging. So if you plan to be out of your office for longer periods, the nc6220 will come in handy.
Conversely, there are some disaponting aspects as well. The incorporated graphics card did deliver decent results when using PowerPoint. However with flash, the outcome is very much on the negative side.
You will find the DVD/CD-RW combination drive which isn’t special but can get better with up gradation.
802.11b/g WLAN can be made use of when you need wireless connectivity.
The final word on the HP Compaq nc6220 Business Notebook PC is that it doesn’t deliver exceptionally brilliant performance but business users needing a device with all the conventional features will certainly not end up frowning.

nc6220 has become my dependable partner.
It is just as I had imagined when I bought it. Most of my work is done unplugged, because I'm mostly outdoors. I find the battery life very reliable for my work. But I sometimes wish it were faster as during multiple apps I find the baby responding slowly. Any suggestions?
