Compaq Presario V4100 Notebook PC series
The Compaq Presario V4100 is a 15.4-inch widescreen notebook encompassing plenty of useful features.
Weighing 2.97 kg (6.45 lbs), it is slender and light in weight with dimensions of 35.84 cm (W) x 25.80 cm (L) x 4.24 cm (H).
Operating on the comprehensive Microsoft Windows XP system, it utilizes the Intel Centrino Mobile technology with Intel Pentium processors comprising of Intel’s SpeedStep technology on a select few models.
Processor speed is in the region of 1.40 GHz to 1.73 GHz for the various models.
System bus has a speed of either 400 MHz or 533 MHz.
V4100 has a Level 2 cache of 2 MB or Level 2 cache of 1 MB with the standard memory being 512 MB.
The peak memory that this notebook series is capable of holding is 2 GB DDR memory.
Internal hard disk drive capacity can either be 40 GB or 80GB with the speed of 4200 rpm.
Video RAM can hold up to 128 MB of shared video memory.
The optical drive type is DVD Writer Dual Format (+/-R +/-RW) with Double Layer support. Optical drive driver softwares included are InterVideo WinDVD 5.0, Sonic Digital MediaPlus 7.0, Sonic RecordNow, Sonic MyDVD, Sonic Easy Archive etc.
V4100 has a WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800.
There is a 6-in-1 Memory Reader compatible with (xD, SD, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Multimedia Card). This can be made use of for file transfer.
Wireless technologies included for the different models are 54g 802.11b/g WLAN, Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 802.11b/g Integrated Wireless LAN.
Expansion slots are One type I or II PC card slot, CardBus-enabled One ExpressCard/54 slot.
The LightScribe Direct Disc Labelling technology is used in a few models courtesy of which you can burn labels onto CDs and DVDs. After burning your content, reverse your disc and burn your personalized label on this side.
Internal audio features comprise the 3D Sound Blaster Pro. Altec Lansing speakers are present for improving the sound quality.
Softwares encompassed are Microsoft Works 8.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0; Microsoft Outlook Express, Adobe Reader 6.0.
Security features of V4100 are made up of Symantec Norton Internet Security 2005 with 60-day live update.
Power supply is via the 65 W AC Power Adapter whereas the battery used is 6-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery.
Warranty features include 1 year, pick-up and return, parts and labour.

V4100: Nothing to crow about
Slender, sleek and powerful, these are the three words that come to mind when you think about Compaq P. V4100. I wanted to add "the poor mans" thinkpad but I won't.
Six is where I would rate it at.

All one can say after its usage is that with 40GB and a video ram of about 128 MB, it would be nice that if you own this one.
