Dell Precision M20
Exceptionally lightweight at 4.9-pounds, the Dell Precision M20 has some pleasing features like the big wide screen and the integrated Wi-Fi technology.
Making use of the advanced Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, M20 comes with the Intel Pentium M Processor 770 and Intel 915PM chipset.
Other useful features include the 64MB RAM memory for video. Also, there are some good multimedia applications and games. For those having a wireless network, you can surf the net easily thanks to the presence of the in-built Wi-Fi technology.
M20 encompasses the 14.1" SXGA screen which is clear and big enough to give you a good angle of view. Resolution is not great but the text and graphics are adequately viewable. Screen is highly radiant which can be easily adjusted using the Function keys.
The upgraded DVD -RW drive is a nice feature. Burning the DVD-RW does not produce too much noise irritancy neither does it take up a lot of time.
Touchpad feature is smooth as well as receptive. Keypad arrangement is good enough to make typing reasonably comfortable.
Memory features aren’t exceptional. Functioning on Windows XP Professional operating system, M20 is comes with the 256MB of DDR2 SODIMM RAM, much lower than seen on many competitors’ notebooks.
Four USB 2.0 ports are present and the device is also compatible with USB 1.1.
Designing is probably the biggest disappointment. The styling can attract only those belonging to a slightly older generation. The exterior has been given an average matt silver grey finishing.
Volume control is another upsetting feature. No dedicated volume button can be found when the laptop is closed.
M20 uses the PCMCIA card reader and a smart card reader.
There are ample of ports to be found like the serial printer port, S-Video port, external monitor VGA port etc. A notable absence is a firewire port.
Speakers are of reasonably good quality. However, when using the headset jack, a lot of disturbance is observable.
Software features of M20 comprise the basic Dell's Quickset software, Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 and PowerDVD 5.
It ships with a 6-cell, 53 watt lithium ion battery. While making use of only the basic functions, you will get close to four hours of operations.
M20’s features aren’t great by any standards and the few flaws it comes with also don’t help. Even so, its performance is good enough for it to be termed as a decent laptop.

I hate to carry any excess weight around and therefore this machine's light weight is what attracted me to it.Besides, it has a resplendent screen, a crisp and responsive keyboard and an upgraded DVD-RW drive. How i wish Dell had worked on its volume control a bit more.
