Finepix F450 Zoom
An ultracompact point-and-shoot camera, F450 Zoom is equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and encompasses only the basic, easy to use features.
Weighing150 g (minus battery and memory card) and having dimensions of 74.5 X 62.3 X 21.3mm, it will easily rest into your pocket.
Being squarish, it looks a tad outdated but the designing deserves it share of praise as the sliver colouring adds some sheen to the camera and it is easy to operate with one hand.
F450 is very user friendly thanks to the intelligent control placements. Navigating the menus is also trouble free.
Features included comprise the automatic mode and the scene modes. For framing images, you are provided with a bright, effective 2-inch LCD. Additionally, you can also exploit the optical viewfinder. Various flash options are present for improving dim light shooting.
Close up photography is facilitated via a macro mode from a close distance of 9cm. The 3x optical zoom aside, you will also locate a 3.6x digital zoom function. For taking self-portraits, F450 comes with a 10 second self-timer.
An interesting feature is the choice to attach half-a-minute voice memo to an already captured still. Special colour effects like black & white and chrome can also be added to images.
Movie capabilities aren’t great. You can record 320x240 and 160x120 resolution video clips at a slow 10fps rate.
Continuing with the features, the ISO sensitivity of F450 is in the region of 80-400. Further, there is an exposure compensation function and white balance options are also present. Using the USB cable, you can transfer images to your PC or laptop.
F450 runs on the rechargeable lithium ion battery.
Storing purposes are solved courtesy the 16MB xD picture card shipped. The memory slot is complaint with higher capacity cards.
Starting up the camera takes just under 3 seconds while delay between two shots is approximately 4 seconds. Shutter-lag isn’t all that bad; 0.6 seconds minus flash and 0.9 with it.
Pictures taken in bright are comprehensive with accurate colour reproduction. On the other hand, dim light images look mediocre with poor focusing and lack of intelligibility. Macro shots too were not over average.
Analyzing all the pros and cons, its has to be said that F450 doesn’t quite deliver the results expected of a 5-MP camera but being very easy to use it might just cater to the complete greenhorn photographers.

Too bad
It’s not been a long time since I have purchased this camera but I am already fed up with it. The camera has only one rocking feature. It has awesome looks. But apart from that it’s really a big big disappointment. Pitcture quality is as bad as you can get. And the movie features are even poorer. Shutter lag is delayed. Macro shot is very poor too.
