Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P43

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P43 is a compact delight. With 4.1 effective Megapixel resolution and up to 3.6x Smart Zoom plus 3x Precision Digital Zoom, the P43 is sure to send users into raptures. Sony's proprietary Real Imaging Processor has been incorporated into this camera and it is indeed a big plus. The processor delivers razor sharp images, something that has not been the case with compact cameras of late.

With the rechargeable NiMH AA batteries and charger, which come with the case, users are assured of 3 hours of uninterrupted shooting. The P43 weighs just 134 grams and feels really good in the palm of the hand. Other corresponding measurements are 10.1 cm X 3.6 cm X 5.4 cm. The Super HAD CCD directs a beam of laser towards the sensor thereby providing enhanced light even in gloomy conditions. Landscape, twilight portrait, soft snap, twilight mode, candle and beach are the shooting modes available in the P43. The camera has also got an in-built flash and red-eye reduction, which work pretty much in conjunction.

The Start-up time is 0.9 sec, Shutter Time Lag is 0.3 sec, Shutter Release Lag is pretty much nil at 0.008 sec, all this means that the camera has a quick start-up operation. The autofocus illuminator is pretty standard for the Cyber-shot series. Another exciting feature is the MPEG VX Fine with Audio, which allows users to record video clips as well as give a brief voiceover for the same. Connectivity options are provided courtesy the USB 2.0 High Speed Transfer. The P43 is PictBridge Compatible.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P43 is a good compact companion for frequent travelers.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P43 is a compact delight. With 4.1 effective Megapixel resolution and up to 3.6x Smart Zoom plus 3x Precision Digital Zoom, the P43 is sure to send users into raptures.

Horribly bad in lowlight
This camera is light in weight and ultracomapact which means you can carry it along anywhere u feel like. Most of the camera operations are fast. Coming to the picture quality, till the time I was taking outdoor shots, the results were very good. But once I shifted to taking low light shots, the disappointments began. Images in these settings lacked brightness and accuracy. There are quite a few good options to be made use of. Movie features are reasonably good. Good portability is an advantage of this camera. So if can do with bad night shots, P43 will not be too bad an option.
