Sony MVC-FD200
Keeping up with Sony’s supremacy in the digital market, the new Sony MVC-FD200 is a digital camera designed to be loved and appreciated just like its predecessors.
Measuring 5.5 x 4.0 x 3.0 inches, this camera is not too light and weighs 645 grams, of course along with the very intelligent InfoLithium NP-F330 battery and its floppy disk. We call this battery intelligent since it informs you precisely how long it can last, even at the fag end. Meanwhile, the camera is relatively hefty, but the FD200 is not unwieldy and fits comfortably in your hand, thanks to its ergonomic and smart designing.
A 2.0 megapixel camera, the MVC-FD200 is equipped with a 3X zoom lens and a focal range of 6.4 - 19.2 mm, (equivalent to 41 - 123 mm), can take still pictures up to 1600x1200 pixels, and can record JPEG video clips up to 320x240 pixels.
Furthermore, a clear and vivid 2.5” LCD adorns the FD200, and is relatively big if compared to other cameras in the same range. However, the camera lacks an optical viewfinder, which implies more responsibilities for the LCD!
A feature that is quite striking and in fact very attractive in the MVC-FD200 is its inclusion of the PIXELA Image Mixer software. One more thing, this camera won’t let you dismiss it just looking at its mere 2-megapixels, for it has other traits that are certain to pull you towards it. It allows you to store your precious digital photographs in a regular floppy disk or in its Memory Stick Media. Finally, you don’t have to count the number of snaps you’ve taken or manage your memory time and again!

Good features but very heavy
Here’s another good camera from Sony and a different one at that thanks to the presence of a floppy drive. You can remove the floppy from the camera and insert it directly into the Microsoft TV Photo Viewer. It has got only a 2-megapxiel sensor and 3xzoom lens. Still, it delivers very good image quality. Even big size prints still look nice. If u want a lightweight camera, then don’t opt for this, it is just too heavy. I didn’t find the movie mode exciting either. Focal range is good while among the softwares present PIXELA Image Mixer is helpful. If u can bear with the camera bulk, I quite sure u won’t end up disappointed.
