Samsung DIGIMAX L50
A compact digital camera from Samsung, DIGIMAX L50 features a high-resolution LCD in addition to a 4X digital zoom and 3X optical zoom.
With relatively small dimensions of 93.3 x 52.1 x 22.3 mm, this 5-megapixel camera should easily fit into your pocket.
L50 features a 230K-pixel, 2.5" large LCD display which delivers fine results with regards to image playback and shot composition.
To enhance you photographic ability, L50 integrates several special effects like Colour Effect, Highlight, Photo Frame and Composite shot.
Supplementing the special effects are the 11 scene modes which facilitates taking good quality images in varied kinds of shooting environments. The modes include Night Scene, Portrait, Text, Children, Landscape, Close-up, Sunset, Dawn etc.
There are more impressive features in store. With a Text Recognition function you can capture images which contain written matter like magazines, newspapers etc. Then using the "DIGIMAX Reader" text recognition software, you can separate the text matter from the inconsequential part of the image.
DIGIMAX L50 encompasses the Continuous Shooting and Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) features. In the former, you can take snaps of fast-moving subjects continually while AEB facilitates shooting a sequence of images having vaguely different exposures.
Samsung Digimax L50 comes with an embedded memory (32MB) which can save images when the memory card is not inserted. More importantly, a Copy to Card function enables you to transport the images saved in the internal memory to the external memory.
There is also a PictBridge which permits taking prints without connecting the camera to the PC. For transfer purposes, you can take advantage of USB 2.0.
The in-built editing features OF L50 include trimming, resizing and rotating.
Other likeable features of L50 comprise voice memo which can be juxtaposed with an image and "One-touch Playback" which facilitates immediate playback of a picture.
Movie capabilities of L50 are excellent. It can record superb VGA (640X480 pixels) clips at 30 fps in the advanced MPEG-4 format and courtesy the 256MB memory card, the duration of the video clips is over an hour.
Some of the useful features that can be used during video recording consist of the movie stabilizer to trims down the effect of camera shakes. Continuous video recording function enables you to pause and resume video recording without disturbing the chronology. You can also exploit L50’s editing and zooming capabilities.
With so many options available, L50 seems like a tempting digital camera.

Just 2 good
This camera has everything you want from a digital camera. Its small in size, has good excellent zooming features, nice 2.5-inch LCD, colour effects, scene modes, the list goes on and on… But what’s impressive is the presence of a couple of novel features. I tried the Text Recognition feature and just loooooovee it. Shooting movies with this camera will also please u. Memory of 32MB isn’t bad is it??? Continuous Shooting and Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) are among the other features that deserve a mention. No disappointments. Not 4 me.
