Despite resembling the D70 kit strongly, the D50 kit is a far much lighter and smaller device. Having a 6.1 effective megapixel sensor, the D50 kit offers complete automatic control, various scene modes as well as total manual adjustments. Targeted for serious photographers, this kit has been designed effectively to make its usage highly convenient and valuable.

The feature that is most striking and remarkable in the D50 kit is its kit lens, or the AF-S Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G DX, that comes with the camera.
