Nikon D50 Body only
This compact and light camera is just what we need it for; producing crisp and clear images with a great scope for creativity. Having seven digital Vari-Program modes, the 6.1 megapixel D50 camera gives you impressively sharp results, producing images with rich details.
This camera has a resplendent 2.0’ display for comfortable viewing and reviewing of images along with a colourful and comprehensive menu. Well, it also has a ‘help’ button to guide beginners through its operations. That surely is commendable.
Additionally, the D50 is designed to shoot continuously at 2.5 fps, along with Flash Sync Speed of 1/500 sec and shutter speeds of 1/4000 sec. It houses a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery competent enough to click around 2,000 images during a single charge. A small battery charger, MH-18a also comes with the D50.
Its seven scene modes naturally adjust settings of the camera to give desired and better results in all light conditions. For instance, it has Landscape, Portrait, Sports, Auto, Night Portrait, Close-up and an all-new Child Mode that imparts a fresh and naturally clear colour to children’s skin tones. Apart from that, creative users have a complete manual mode for them where they can utilise their imagination and innovation in clicking photographs.
The D50 guarantees image precision as well as apt exposure control in any light condition. It is technically able to perceive bright areas plus darkness or shadows and suitably offsets them to avoid incorrect exposure. One will also see in this camera an improved autofocus system that works in 5-areas and a ‘predictive focus tracking’ and ‘Lock-on™’, which work towards accurate imaging and advanced focus tracking. Its automatic ‘AF-assist illuminator’ is present to look after the focus in poor light conditions.

Using this shouldn’t be too disappointing
Hey methinks this is a really sweet camera. I have not been using it for more than a couple of months but long enough to have known that I have not made a regrettable decision. The 6-Mp sensor is responsible for the gr8 pictures shot. 2-inch LCD helps me no end during image composing and all the scene options are fine. I did not find the Af illuminator gr8 though. It is no doubt helpful in the night but not to the extent that is expected. I was disappointed on a couple of other counts too. A fireworks option was needed in the white balance setting. Also feel the lens range could have been slightly better. All said and done though it is still an efficient camera at the end of the day.
