Canon PowerShot A95
Canon PowerShot A95 is an enriched version of A80 with a 5-megapixel sensor, 1.8" vari-angle LCD and glossy styling to boot.
Equally useful for both amateurs and professionals, A95 is incorporated with easy to use controls and excellent shooting options.
There are 14 diverse shooting modes both manual and automatic. Scene modes like Foliage, Snow, Beach and Fireworks are beneficial in different shooting environs.
In the Macro mode, you can take pictures from a distance of 5cm.
Movie mode permits capturing VGA video clips with playback facility either in-the camera itself or it can be viewed by connecting to your TV. But the biggest disappointment here is the limited duration of 30 seconds.
With an improved 1.8" vari-angle LCD, you can take pictures from otherwise uncomfortable positions like ground or waist level.
5.0 Megapixel sensor facilitates taking comprehensive prints up to the size of A3. Cropping is also pretty efficiently done without destroying the picture quality too much.
Images can be printed easily by connecting to a Canon Direct Print or PictBridge compatible photo printer and pressing the Print/Share button. Canon Compact Photo Printer also prints ID photos.
The DIGIC processor plays a crucial role in giving out superb image quality along with a swift rate of functioning. Meanwhile, iSAPS automatically recognises the perfect camera setting for a respective shot and makes the necessary modification prior to the shutter release.
A95’s 3x optical zoom has a big enough aperture range which delivers good results when images are captured in dim conditions.
Presence of the 9-point AiAF (Artificial intelligence Auto Focus) permits you to bring in focus images which are not centred. If that’s not enough, FlexiZone AF/AE allows you to decide what you want to keep in focus.
The software set has various programmes which facilitate downloading and editing the captured photographs. Especially impressive is PhotoStitch softwares which stitches together related snaps to give great panorama effects.
You are also allowed to occupy 100MB of free web space online for sharing and uploading images.
Performance wise, the start up time of A95 was seen to be slightly more than 3 seconds and recycling too was round about the same with the shutter lag being approximately 1 second. In continuous-shooting modes, you can take pictures at 1.5fps while in the fast mode the rate goes up to 2.2fps.
The disappointing movie mode notwithstanding, A95 features some excellent shooting options and deserves the crown of a top class camera.

Whoa…what a camera!!!
This is a gr8888 camera. I’m no professional shooter so I needed something whose features will not cause too much strain on the brain. And after purchasing A95, I can tell you that this is xactly what I was looking for. Not only are the features really rocking but they are extremely easy to use. It’s got all the functions a good camera needs. Scene modes, autofocus , macro mode etc I have used them all and am more than pleased with them. But the most enjoyable feature is definitely shooting movies and that 2 of such good quality. Printing out images is also so so easy. Tried finding at least one fault but could not succeed.
