Canon PowerShot A610
An enhancement to the highly appreciated PowerShot A95, Canon PowerShot A610 is reasonably identical in design to A95 but some of the enrichments do include a 4X optical zoom and a DIGIC II processor.
A 5 Megapixel camera, A610 features plenty of manual, automatic and special scene modes and a 2 inch vari-angle LCD.
Among the 20 shooting modes, you will find the Custom mode and a shutter speed priority mode, with shutter speeds between 15 seconds to 1/2500 second.
In the macro mode, you can shoot images from 1 cm closeness.
Scene modes are inclusive of Night Snapshot, Snow and Underwater.
The Stitch Assist mode permits you to shoot panorama images. You can then stitch the photos together via the PhotoStitch software shipped with the product.
My Colors feature can be used to make the photos look even more delectable. Swapping colours, highlighting specifics and many more in-camera effects give you the license to expand your creative horizons.
The LCD is competent in capturing images from uncanny positions like the ground or head high level. A grid line aids in straightening out the images in the required position.
The 4x optical zoom of A610 has a 35–140 mm focal length (35 mm equivalent) and its maximum aperture range is f/2.8 to f/4.1.
Shooting Movie clips is possible in VGA & QVGA forms at speeds of 60 and 30 fps respectively. Furthermore, there is a Compact mode for emailing videos.
A610 delivers excellent picture quality at the prints up to a maximum size of A3 and permits image cropping sans compromising on the image quality. The Print/Share button allows you to print without connecting to a PC. Data transfer is also facilitated through the USB 2.0.
Presence of the DIGIC II image processor is responsible for speedy camera performance. This is evident in the speedy rate of capturing images at 2.4 fps. DIGIC II also helps in enhancing picture quality as it can evaluate and adjust the colour representation for accurate picture reproduction.
With the help of the 9-point AiAF, you can get proper focus for even the off-centre images.
Software package of A610 incorporates the ZoomBrowser EX 5.5, ImageBrowser 5.5, and ArcSoft PhotoStudio apart from the earlier mentioned PhotoStitch 3.1.
CANON iMAGE GATEWAY gives you 100MB online space which can be utilized for uploading and sharing purposes.
An improved optical zoom and the DIGIC II processor along with the various modes make it a promising prospect.

an enriched camera
This camera is truly an advanced version of A95. I am saying this b’coz I used the A95 and was looking forward to A610. This 5-megapxiel performs that much better than 95. Picture quality is improved. The 4x optical zoom helps in the enriched performance and so does the DIGIC II processor. You will get more than enough shooting modes to get the desired picture quality. Apart from scene modes, worth mentioning is the panorama and my colours feature. Video shooting capabilities are also impressive. Only thing u have 2 remember is to purchase a big capacity memory card as the camera comes with only 16 MB.
