Canon Digital IXUS 30
A 32.megapixel camera, the Canon Digital IXUS 30 comes with a number of enrichments over its predecessor Ixus IIs; the 3x optical zoom lens being a prominent one.
Relatively light, its dimensions are small enough to fit in a large pocket. The camera integrates a lens with ultra-high refractive index aspherical (UA) glass, bigger 2-inch screen and a DIGIC II processor.
Having an attractive styling, the framework consists mainly of magnesium-aluminium alloy. Built quality too is remarkable.
Placement of the controls is very much acceptable. And Canon’s navigation system is unambiguous with clear cut menu instructions. While the menu buttons guide to the basic features, the function button takes you the major, advanced functions.
Coming to the settings, there are six scene modes; portrait, night, indoor, digital macro, kids & pets and underwater. In the macro mode, you can take some great close-ups shots. And don’t forget to utilize the full-auto and manual option modes too. ISO sensitivity can be adjusted in the range of 50 to 400.
Apart from a custom white balance setting, a stitch assist mode, wherein you can capture large images in different shots and later stitch them in the perfect order, is also more than useful. Long-shutter mode has been incorporated to facilitate noise reduction.
Video capturing feature is superb with 1GB recording possible for 640x480 resolutions at 30fps. Further, you have a supplementary choice of shooting 60fps (320x 240 pixels) slow motion clips.
Quality of pictures shot is excellent with accurate exposure and colour reproduction. A 9-point AiAF autofocusing function ensures better focus while an AF assist lamp comes in handy when performing camera operations in gloomy environments. But here the picture quality does descend, if only just. The noise disturbance has been taken good care of with reasonable decibel levels even at peak ISO 400.
Take a pick between the three JPEG settings in which you can shoot up to 125 shots or else you can use the default mode which can take approximately 15 shots at maximum 2048x1536 pixels.
Printing without the help of a PC is possible with picture quality impressive up to a size of 10x8-inch.
Start-up time of IXUS 30 is excellent at no more than three seconds provided the battery is completely charged.
With a compact size, novel settings and plenty of options to choose from, the Canon Digital IXUS 30 is a top class camera without doubt.

flawless camera
To put it in simple words, this is an excellent digital camera with no flaws. It’s very small in size and looks good to. What’s more impressive, most of the features I used gave the desired results. The picture quality should definitely match ur expectations. Shooting high quality video clips is also possible with this camera. And u won’t believe that the start up time is too fast. To be honest, I didn’t find any flaw in this at least not till now.
