Canon Digital IXUS i zoom
Canon Digital IXUS I zoom is a fashionable 5-megapixel camera also featuring a 2.4 x Optical zoom and a 1.8 inch LCD.
Available in four varied colour schemes, its overall styling is excellent with decent dimensions. The LCD is quite an enhanced one producing good results. Navigation should be relatively easy considering the easy user interface. It’s also quite a lot of fun as you come across various animated characters in the course of your navigation. That’s not all; the menu comes in 22 separate languages.
You can make use of 16 shooting modes for an enhanced photographic experience. There are Auto, Manual, Macro, Portrait, Landscape and Night Snapshot modes. In the scene modes, you will find the underwater mode also. A My Colours feature present enables you to apply the desired colour effects. The special effects facilitate colour swapping in both images and videos. Finally, a 9-point AiAF enables the pictures to stay in proper focus.
The 2.4x optical zoom has an aperture range of f/3.2 – f/5.4. In conjunction with the digital zoom, i zoom provides 10x magnification.
Megapixel sensor of i zoom is capable of producing excellent pictures up to the size of A3 prints. Printing images without connecting to your PC is possible thanks to the Print/Share button. An auto focus function enables increasing the amount of photos to be shot before the battery is charged.
An Orientation Sensor automatically swivels the portrait shots before playback not considering the camera orientation.
Among the technological advancements, a Camera Station (CS-DC1), facilitates connecting to televisions and home theatres, a DIGIC II processor improves the colour quality and iSAPS modifies the camera settings according to the surroundings. A USB 2.0 Hi interface is also provided for transferring images.
In movie mode, you can record videos of 1 GB size or 60 minutes duration and also make use of the Digital zoom. Among the shooting options here, you can make use of VGA (10fps) QVGA (20fps) and the Compact Movie mode (15fps).
The IXUS i zoom is shipped with plenty of useful softwares like ZoomBrowser EX 5.5, PhotoRecord 2.2 ImageBrowser 5.5 and ArcSoft PhotoStudio.
All in all an attractive digital camera with good LCD and impressive shooting modes.

How the hell did I break it???
I was a proud owner of this camera sometime back. Unfortunately I put it down a couple of times and that was that. The camera is very lightweight and that’s probably why it couldn’t sustain the blows it took. I still have it but is not of much use these days there’s just too much repair work to be done and that is too often. Anyways, I had a very pleasant experience with the camera. The shooting modes, my colour feature and optical zoom all impressed with their performance. And how can I not mention the video mode which is rocking too. Only at times when pictures are taken in extreme dark that u find some the quality a bit bad. Otherwise, it won’t give u 2 much reason 2 complain.
