Samsung X450
An entry level clamshell with all the basic features present, the Samsung X450 is surprisingly lightweight at 79 g.
The size of 83 x 47 x 21 mm makes it very portable even as the external antenna undoes some of the good styling.
Keypad layout of X450 is decent and navigating is simple via the prudent menu arrangement.
Messaging features consist of SMS, EMS, and MMS.
Gamers can enjoy four in-built Java games apart from downloading more.
Organizer functions include the standard features like, Scheduler, Calendar, to do list, Clock, Alarm Currency converter and Calculator.
With WAP 1.2, it has a memory of 600 KB for images and sounds and 450 KB for games.
It’s quite shocking that X450 doesn’t feature an external screen. On opening up the phone, you are able to view the UFB (Ultra fine and bright) LCD display which has the capacity to recognize 65 k colours. The resolution of 128 x 160 pixels is also more than impressive.
The X450 houses 40-voice polyphonic ringtones which is satisfactory to say the least.
But being only an entry level phone, there are many important multimedia functions absent. Digital camera, which is almost a prerequisite today in most handsets, is not found. Music buffs too would be disappointed as neither a radio nor a MP3 is present.
To compound matters, handsfree usage is not facilitated as there’s no headset.
Not least of all, there is no way to access your PC as there is no Bluetooth or Infrared for allowing wireless data connectivity.
Some positives are evident from the fact that it is a triband making it very useful for frequent travellers and you can always be in touch with your desired contacts wherever you are. But with so many other handsets being triband capable and in addition having many advanced multimedia features in comparison, it is highly probable that X450 might fall behind in the competition.
What is in X450’s favour though is the excellent battery functionality. A standard battery is likely to give you three hours of talktime and as much as 250 hours on standby.
All in all, the Samsung X450 is targeted at prospective customers who only want the standard functions to work effectively.

Simple and useful entry level phone
All you modern gizmo freaks do not read this review b’coz this phone is not fit for your needs. But for those like me who prefer only the basics features but expect good efficiency, this go ahead and read this. You will get a sleek piece which looks exceptionally cool and is rather lightweight. No Bluetooth or other connectivity features as it is just an entry cell. Looks gr8 performs the rudimentary functions rather satisfactorily and doesn’t give you too much trouble. What’s more it is reasonably cheap.
