Samsung X460
An upgraded version of X450, Samsung X460 is an elegant clamshell with an in-built antenna and double display.
Weighing a mere 75 g and having a size of 85 x 43 x 23 mm, it is undoubtedly one of the most lightweight phones present in the market.
Unlike X450, it is inclusive of an external black and white screen which has a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels.
Internally, you can make use of the UFB (Ultra fine and bright) LCD display housing 65k colours with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. When compared to the TFT screen, it doesn’t perform that well in bright sunlight. But it is indisputably of superior quality than the STN display.
Keypad functioning is pretty impressive. Firstly, the new curved shape keys make it look extremely cool and the blue backlight only adds more glamour to the phone apart from performing the crucial role of maintaining clarity in most conditions. All in all, the buttons are well laid out and no one should face any trouble while operating it.
You can listen to the 40-voice polyphonic ringtones which are relatively good. But some other crucial functions don’t quite stand up to the desired level. Vibrator is nothing more than ordinary and chances are it might not be audible in noisy surroundings. Having said that, the quality of the speakerphone and reception aren’t that bad by any stretch of the imagination.
Messaging is enhanced thanks to SMS, MMS and EMS. Using the T9 predictive text is also facilitated in X460.
Game freaks can enjoy the in-built Java games while there is always the provision for more downloads.
Business-minded people can make use of many helpful functions like scheduler, memo, alarm, currency converter and calendar etc.
X460’s phonebook is capable of storing a maximum of 1000 contacts. Pretty impressive! A dual band with WAP 2.0, manufacturers claim that the 800 mAh Li-Ion battery is eminently capable of giving you talktime of 3.5 hours and standby time of 230 hours.
With a modish design, good colour screen, polyphonic ringtones and Java enabled games; the X460 is certainly targeted towards the teens for whom most of the above mentioned features are a must.

The perfect phone
This Samsung X460 is a marvelous phone. There are so many superb features. Colour screen is excellent and even the battery lasts a decent amount if time. I especially love the external screen. Designing and size both are good as well. But the ringtones aren’t that great. X460 doesn’t come with a camera or MP3 player. But I don’t give a damn. I’m getting most of the features I wanted in my mobile. What else can one ask for?
