Sony Ericsson T100
Sony Ericsson has designed the T100 specifically for the amateur mobile users with most of the standard functions seen in many past and present mobiles intact.
It has an excellent build quality with dimensions of 99x43.5x17.7mm. Available in four colours: light blue, white, orange and silver, making a choice might not be an easy decision. The display is a four-level greyscale screen which is responsible for some amazing graphic effects.
You will find two slender rubber coatings on either side of the phone which facilitates good handling. Watch closely and you will admire the sleek design as the front and back surfaces are elegantly curved, even if only to a small extent.
Using the keypad might cause some trouble as the buttons laid out are not heightened enough. As a result, even pressing the keys becomes irritating at times.
An opening for the strap can be found atop the cell. Given the not so heavy weight of T100, the neck strap can certainly be put to good use.
The user interface is identical to most of the Sony Ericsson models. So if you are well versed with Sony Ericsson’s features, operating this should be a cakewalk. Having said that, even first timers will not have too much trouble with navigation thanks to the user friendly interface.
Some issues arise when using the primary functions like making and receiving calls. The flattened front surface often makes your ears feel uneasy. While the audio quality isn’t bad, the decision to have the microphone at the frontage leads to unwanted interference in reception lot of times.
Messaging features are advanced. You will find the normal SMS and EMS functions. In addition, you are provided with the option of sending long messages not restricted to the contemporary 160 characters. Group messaging is also supported through T100.
Editing sections give you the capability to modify graphics and music with help of the picture and melody editors.
Picture phonebook feature allows you to store pictures of your loved ones which will spring up on the screen every time they call you.
Keeping the phone in Sleep mode helps in saving precious battery charge. Last but not the least, T100 is WAP enabled.
Some of the standard functions include timer, alarm with snooze and stopwatch among others.
T100 is dual-band compatible. Battery life is very much acceptable with 3 hours of talktime and 3-4 days on standby.
Commendable for its eye-catching styling and user friendly features, one gets the feeling certain functions could definitely have bee presented in a better manner.

Not bad at all
The Sony Ericsson T100 is a good mobile on various counts. It’s got a sleek designing. And the dimensions are small enough to make it fit comfortably in your hands. I like the screen quality. And even navigating is easy thanks to the user friendly interface. But most importantly, I have hardly had any problems with the reception. Messaging is bit of a headache as operating with the predictive text input is rather tedious. I do travel a lot so triband functionality would have been superb. Anyways, it hasn’t given me too much of a reason to complain. And overall, I’m satisfied with my T100.
