Sony Ericsson T630
Sony Ericsson T630 is supposed to be an upgraded version of the extremely well-liked T610. So it is but obvious that comparisons will be drawn between the two.
With triband capabilities, T630 has 2MB memory, weighing 92 g and dimensions equivalent to 102 x 43 x 17 mm.
Many of the characteristics of T610 are seen in T630 too, prominent among them being the integrated camera, Bluetooth and other multimedia features. But there ought to be a few distinctions between the two phones since one is a predecessor and the other a successor.
T630 has rather uncomplicated design compared to 610. But that by no means makes it unattractive. The casing is plain white coloured while the light silver of the keypad complements it perfectly. Backlight colour is also white as should be the case given the mobile’s colour scheme. The manufacturers are of the view that the design will cater to rich teens and women apart and will also be a very good differentiating factor between T610 and T630.
Keypad arrangement makes good sense. While the keys are pretty close to each other, the prominent size of the buttons prevents any hindrances while typing. Joystick is very much similar to the one in T610 and very efficient too.
But the striking dissimilarity is evident in the display. While 610 has STN screen, T630 makes use of the advanced TFT display which supports 65,536 colours with resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. It also solves a major problem that 610 users had of being unable to get a clear view in bright sunshine. A glass fitting for safeguarding the screen is also an additional enrichment.
The VGA camera, located on the flipside, hasn’t been replaced. But now you can click pictures at 640x480 pixel resolution. Even as the scaling technique is used, the quality of images is abysmal when transferred to the PC.
T630 incorporates the QuickShare feature which facilitates sharing images with a PC or other phones having the requisites for the transfer of information.
Mirror used in T630 is larger than the one present in Т610.
Otherwise, most of the features are repetitive barring the Instant Messaging support which resembles the ICQ feature. But it will all depend on the operators whether they provide this function or not.
The battery gives users14 hours talktime and 315 hours of standby.
All said and done, T630 is majorly successful in its endeavour to be the big brother of T610 courtesy some of its superior features.

Stylish and effective
Purchased this phone a couple of months back and am really enjoying it. The stylish look of the phone is really gr8 and the features aren’t very bad either. The screen gives good results and the rigntones rock. There are a few shortcuts which will certainly help you once you get used to it. But the integrated camera is rubbish. It gives horrible pictures and sometimes makes you wonder whether you’ve wasted you’re money. But the never brought it specifically for a camera like many people. And so hardly use it. My personal opinion is that this a good phone with most of the required features present.
