Sony Ericsson Z800i
The Sony Ericsson Z800i is a foldable handset with dimensions of 102 x 49 x 23.6mm. Weighing 128g, it is undoubtedly hefty.
Open the phone to view the impressive 176 x 220-pixel, 262K TFT LCD screen. The keypad is decently structured and it’s fairly easy for sending SMS’. However, the four-way joystick is too rigid and not at all comfortable to operate.
On the back cover, you will come across the external 65K TFT screen. The 1-inch display delivers a disappointing 101 x 80-pixel resolution making it very difficult to read in bright sunshine. There is also the 1.3-megapixel camera surrounded by six strong LED lights which aren’t very useful. IrDA is at the right base which makes it unsuitable for exchanges with other infrared-enabled devices. Volume controls are to the left, while a light-activation and camera button are on the right.
Navigating through the menus is speedy and easy but trouble arises when you operate the sub-menus as they are in tab form and at times this might end up to be a lengthy procedure as the feature you are looking for might be many tabs behind.
Apart from the standard SMS facility, this handset allows you to insert clips to your MMS and My Friends feature which is very much the mobile equivalent of chatting.
Features of the megapixel camera include Motion Eye which incorporates characteristics of digicam, videocam and Webcam. Besides this, there aren’t too many innovations. You can only find the customary night mode, effect and panorama.
The video call button is useful for those who don’t want to reveal their pictures while making 3G calls.
Z880i has an internal memory of 5MB along with a 64MB card available with the phone. Thankfully, the customers are not required to take out the battery while inserting a SIM or memory card.
Bluetooth facilitates wireless communication while you can also use USB and IrDA. That apart, you can have fun with the MP3 player which has an onboard equalizer.
More entertainment options are available with the 72-chord polyphonic ringtones, MusicDJ- wherein users can compose their favourite tunes.
Battery performance is satisfactory with the 900mAh Lithium-polymer running for more than three days on normal usage.
Z800i is a bit too brawny for comfort, especially for females. The bulky weight might not facilitate its placement in the chic phones category. But the presence of some efficient multimedia features might just make you think twice.

Sensational camera features
This is a lovely phone with which I can do whatever I wish. This includes sending mms (not corny ones), making video calls etc. But the feature I like the most is the 1.3 megapixel camera. It can take brilliant photos. Data speeds are superb and lastly, the most cherished feature is my gaming zone. There aren’t too many better mobiles according to me.

Wow… what a phone!!!!
All rounder. That’s how I can best describe this phone. The 1.3 megapixel camera is absolutely amazing. Even an average photographer like me can take good snaps thanx 2 Z800i. How can I not mention about the video calling facility. Try it. You’ll just love it. The speed of functioning is very rapid I tell you and the games, wow!!!!! Got it. The 6 LEDS enclosing the phone are no less than torchlight. Hmmm… what’s left. Yup the memory stick duo is very useful too. There are just 2 many rockin features of this fone man. GO GET IT.
