Sony Ericsson V800

V800 is Sony Ericsson’s maiden venture in the 3G phone category sold by Vodafone.

A silvery blue phone, its size (49mm x 102mm x 23.6mm) and weight (128 g) make it somewhat hefty but its usable friendly nature more than makes up for this minor glitch.

The keypad of V800 is spacious with the keys well placed and the function keys for video calling and accessing the on-screen graphical menus, music and videos etc seated in a separate row. More buttons are positioned to the left and right sides. On the left, you can find the volume keys, while on the right side there is a shortcut to the camera and a light button that switches the LEDs around the camera lens.

The internal display has a resolution of 176 x 220 pixel with 262,144 colour options is impressive with superior picture quality while the outer screen with 101 x 80 pixels gives only 400 colours. But the exterior display does provide some useful information like time, date and battery strength.

Among the attention grabbing features of V800 it its GSM and GPRS compatibility. Also present is Bluetooth, infrared and synchronisation software for accessing Outlook Express on your PC. The V800 also facilitates HTML and WAP browsing.

Internet accessibility is the major advantage for these 3G phone users. The performance is not extra special. But it certainly is useful.

V800 has an easy to use graphical interface. One of the main buttons takes you to the menu from where you can access Vodafone Live! service. Here you will find a lot of useful functions relating to music, games, sports, movies, news etc.

The 1.3 megapixel camera delivers good quality pictures and is among the better cameras available in 3G phones.

Among the disappointments is the minuscule 6MB storage space. The expansion is provided through Memory Stick Duo cards rather than the much superior SD cards. But you are supplied with a 32MB card.

The BST-33 battery is believed to give 10 hours of talktime and 240 hours of standby.

In conclusion, the Sony Ericsson V800 can be termed as an efficient, customer-friendly phone with good utility factor.

Sony Ericsson V800 rocks
There are plenty of things that would make you fall in love with the Sony Ericsson V800. Not least of all, its stylish, trendy design. A number of technologically advanced features have been incorporated. The 1.3 megapixel camera with flash isn’t the worst. Bluetooth and infrared are great. I am yet to come across a phone with better speakerphone capabilities. The voice quality is truly amazing. Memory card slot is present. I use it to listen to my beloved music. Wow what a phone

Phone with some gr8 features
Sony Ericsson V800 looks charming at the outset. The design is on par with some of the best. And there are many more attractive features. I really like the megapixel camera which gives really nice and sharp pictures. Connectivity factors include Bluetooth and infrared. Speaker phone is very audible. There is ample memory plus expansion slot. Except for being a bit heavy weight Sony Ericsson passes the test when it comes to being an excellent cell phone.
