Nokia 2300
From the funky design of Nokia 2300, it is pretty evident that this is a phone with teenagers as its prime target for cutomers. The pinkish grey colour will surely cater to both the male and female customers.
Among the specific design features, the keyboard is made of plastic and is surprisingly pleasant to use despite the unconventional design. The backlight blue colour is not proper due to the varying colours and as a result the buttons are highlighted differently. This also causes a lot of problems in typing anything when there is no natural light around. 2300 comes with a changeable covers and keymat which means you can alter the look of your mobile according to you wishes.
At the base you can find two small openings, one for charging and the other for headphone which can be used for listening to FM radio, one of 2300’s main features.
The screen of 2300 is monochrome which can exhibit several text lines. The screen display is not colour unlike most phones these days but still looks very radiant thanks to the colourful cover design.
Size of the phone too isn’t very much of a problem. With dimensions of 107x46x21 mm and weighing 92 g, it will fit easily into your pocket. The Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 850mAh can give you 5 hours of talktime and 400 hours of stand by according to the manufacturers.
The sound quality is good. Ringtones are audible enough to be heard in most surroundings. The vibrator sound is a bit low though and there are chances you might miss it at times.
Listening to FM on the move is a very appealing addition, especially for the youth. You are given the power to select FM stations and can even preset them. To chance the stations, you only need to press a button. Furthermore, you can switch on the loudspeaker if you want to enjoy listening to the music along with your friends.
Not having WAP and GPRS technology .is a really grave disadvantage in today’s competitive mobile market. While you can enjoy listening to songs via FM, the phone is not compatible with a PC and hence stuff like ringtones cannot be downloaded. And in-built polyphonic ringtones, though clear, aren’t anything special.
The trendy design is sure to attract a lot of customers and coupled with the FM radio, youth have a good choice of a cell but only if you are not looking for the latest advanced features.

I only listen to the FM radio
My friend brought this phone and after looking at its features, I find it difficult to fathom what made him buy this. The designing of the phone, according to me, is too girly. The plastic elements make its build quality quite bad. Backlight is too dim. It’s impossible to type in the dark. Screen is monochrome. Quite unimpressive. Battery life span is disastrously small. There is no WAP and GPRS technology. I lost my FM radio sometime back so my friend did do me favour by purchasing this as I keep listening to it whenever I meet up with him.

Attractive design, good features
The USP of 2300 is undoubtedly the FM radio. I purchased it b’coz it’s perhaps the cheapest Nokia phone with an in-built radio. The styling should attract a lot of people towards it. But the different colours of the buttons cause some trouble when the backlight is on as different buttons look differently coloured. Leave that aside, the polyphonic ringtones are surely among the best you will get. Size might look a tad big but actually its quite comfortable and lightweight. If you are not looking fro exceptional features in a cell, 2300 will deliver good results at an economical cost.
