Nokia 6310i
Nokia adopts the matter-of-fact approach with the 6310i, which is just what it should be, a perfect phone. Not going around the bush and focusing on what is really expected out of a good phone, the Nokia 6310i seems to pack just about everything with its advanced features of voice-activated dialing, Bluetooth and IR connectivity, e-mail support along with text and picture messaging facilities. The 6310i is a GSM/GPRS mobile and encompasses a relatively huge 500-name phone book, with its tri-band support lending it a global edge, excellent especially for business users.
Furthermore, the novel Java facility enables smooth downloading of applications almost like a dream, equivalent to downloading ringtones or graphics. Besides Java games, one can also splurge on valuable applications, such as travel guides, data tools, or personal assistants.
The exterior of the phone is a robust kind and it seems as if Nokia has purposely designed this piece purely with impeccable functions and features, minus glamour. The 3-minute voice-recording capability of this phone is such an add-on when one wishes to record conversations as a keepsake or business users who exchange significant details over the phone. For that matter, even stock market spectators have a reason to cheer with the 6310i’s J2ME Portfolio Manager Application, which will permit them to track their assets.
Nevertheless, one feature that is conspicuous by its absence in the 6310i is a coloured screen, which could have lent it more élan. Another quirk noticed was the lack of a flashlight to signal or display an active Bluetooth connection of the phone. Otherwise, the 6310i performed fairly well in all its tests with great sound and reception quality and did not give battery problems.

My fone is the best
The Nokia 6310i is the best phone I have used by miles. No it doesn’t have the MP3 player or a camera and not even a colour screen which most modern may mobile users seek. But I don’t care b’coz I don’t belong to that gang. What it does is what a mobile phone is supposed to do. It is a PERFECT phone. Not only that, the battery life is exceptional running for a whopping 10 days on one charge. The Bluetooth and tri-band capabilities are also gr8. I really can’t find any fault in this phone.

A mixed bag
The Nokia 6310i is absolutely spot on when it comes to delivery on most of the essential features. The display is giant and facilitates easy reading but a colour display was better recommended. The keypad arrangement is very spacious. Among the other useful features are Bluetooth, internet and e-mail facility. I would give full rating to the reception quality. And I also think the battery charging is good enough as it can run for 5-6 days. Why not a camera please? Size too is a bit of a problem. Bottom line: it’s a mixed bag.
