Nokia 7260

A fashionable and vibrant offering from Nokia, 7260 has the silver of plastic and its body is black gloss. Being so different from many other models, it can cater to niche consumers who are also interested in style apart from the mechanisms of the phone.

It has the characteristic dimensions of 105x45x18 mm and weighs 92g. A distinctive model in sync with the 40 platform version 2, the display of 7260 is 65K having a resolution of 128x128 pixels. Quality wise, it has preset color schemes. Unfortunately, the menu looks a tad shady not using the full potential of the screen. The display is slightly below par as such trendy phones usually have a resolution of 128x160 pixels and sometimes even more. The one plus point though is that it can be read well in sunlight despite all the above mentioned troubles.

Red backlighting looks smart but the lettering on the keys appears jaded. The on/off button as in most cases can be located at the top whereas you can also find volume adjustment key on the side which is made of plastic and reasonably comfortable.

On the bottom is fitted the connector for a battery charger and an interface Pop-port connector. Also check out the VGA-camera on the back plate and a silvery inclusion which can serve as a mirror.

A battery (BL-5B, Li-Ion, 760 mAh) concealed in the back panel can run for 3 hours in the talk mode and till 350 hours in the standby mode and can be completely charged in 1.5 hours.

Among some of the good enhancements is the white background visible whilst dialing a number. The battery charge and signal indicators are most welcome. Like in most phones, here too you find preset images, themes, melodies very smartly chosen by the manufacturers keeping in mind the image of the phone.

7260 has a plastic keypad while the digital keys are chrome-plated. There are irritating movements of the key thus making it a tad difficult to type quick messages. Since the soft keys are alienated in a black slab, often there are chances that you miss it and press a call or end call button which are silvery. Might take some time getting used to and thus many times you have to focus extra hard on pressing the right buttons. More attention is paid to the exterior with functionality being greatly ignored.

A fashionable and vibrant offering from Nokia, 7260 has the silver of plastic and its body is black gloss. Being so different from many other models, it can cater to niche consumers who are also interested in style apart from the mechanisms of the phone.

Nokia 7260: sleek and cool
The new Nokia 7260 comes as a very attractive piece with a pouch and a strap. It has a very good gloss finish with beautiful curved edges. The 65k display is very bright and clear. The FM radio and video recorder are good. The Nokia 7620 has a wide range of ring tones. Even the instant messaging facility is very good. The set also possesses good e-mail and MMS facilities. There are two pre-installed games and java games can be downloaded. The mobile handset is quite light and the talk time is good. All in all a good set.

Make a mobile style statement
This one is drop dead gorgeous! I love its exteriors that have an entity of their own and make you stand out in a crowd. But then, whatever was Nokia thinking while alloting it the memory card? Well, the memory is just shamelessly insufficient to do any justice to this state-of-the art phone. Is Nokia listening?
