Netgear WPN824 RangeMax with Video 54 technology
Netgear's WPN824 RangeMax is a router inclusive of the highly advanced MIMO technology created by Video 54. This Video54 solution entrenched in the Netgear unit comprises of seven internal antennas which negate the impact of external interference like cordless phones by fine-tuning themselves along with the changing environmental settings. The unit automatically hunts for a better signal if one of the antennas is producing weak signals.
Blue LEDs placed atop the router turn on or off, informing which antennas are sending out signals at a given point of time. However, it fares poorly with legacy 802.11b devices.
Setting up the router hardly costs you a few minutes. A CD included with the device loads the set up wizard automatically when you insert the disc into the PC.
The router’s browser-based configuration tool provides users with a number of networking choices like Dynamic DNS support (to set up a web site), DMZ assignments (for gaming and teleconferencing on the Internet); and URL blocking and logging (to keep watch on sites visited from your network). Among the security features incorporated are: an integrated firewall and MAC address filtering, in addition to WEP and WPA encryption.
Netgear's RangeMax router comes with an obligatory one-year warranty.

Great thing for keeping kids out of trouble (online)
The MAC address filtering, and URL blocking are just what a parent needs when she is away at work and kids have the PC to themselves. What's more, the kids love it too - they have a ball playing games.

pricey but extremely efficient
The Netgear WPN824 has been of great help to me ever since I purchased it a week back. This after having a not too good experience with the Belkin’s Pre-N router.
This biggest advantage with Netgear is I can connect it anywhere in my house. Thank heavens for the internal antennas which make it look trendier in comparison to other routers who have antennas coming out from all over. The cost is a bit too high. But it is a product of high quality no doubt.
