Capture the Himalayan sunset with Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1
Konica Minolta will be out with DiMAGE X1- a superior digital camera with an 8-megapixel CCD- in September. Measuring 95 by 68 by 20mm, the attention-grabbing quality of DiMAGE X1 is the novel Anti-Shake feature with which you can capture wide-angles at shutter speeds as slow as1/6 second. This makes it highly suitable to take snaps of the Himalayan sunset, candlelit interior of a tent etc.
Konica’s arrangement slants the whole optical unit, along with the CCD, to counteract the image-blurring effects of your tired and wobbly hands.
Likely to cost £300, the 37-111mm lens makes use of folded optics to zoom within the camera body, not allowing any projections even when it's turned on. The 64mm (2.5-inch) LCD is located on the back side and is chiefly used for which is used for framing and assessing your photos.
Available in three colours -- silver, black and wine red, you can even connect it to your computer, TV or printer thanks to the docking cradle.

Looks impressive, good on most counts, except video
I appreciate the non-protruding zoom lens and the sleek styling. The main body is so slim. The anti-shake system is also great. Then the images on TV or a PC using the cradle is very convenient. But for video capture, it isn't very good at 10 fps. At best you can only catch a few seconds of action.

perfect… close to or just about anyway
Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 is astounding in a few respects. It has an amazing 8.3 megapixels that too fit into a small digital camera. The 3x optical zoom lens works absolutely wonderfully by giving some magnificent pics. The big minus is the absence of a digital zoom which could have made the camera a worthier one to purchase. Anyways, the resolution is great and one shouldn’t have too many complaints about it.
