Dell Inspiron 9300 is really inspirational for gamers
The Dell Inspiron 9300 is the new age laptop that all users would give their eyetooth to possess. It is full of all the features that you would want to see in a laptop meant to replace the ubiquitous desktop PC. The presence of the Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 graphics chip means that gaming enthusiasts who want to indulge in high-end gaming like the Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 can do so without having to think twice about it. Though the performance of the system seems wanting as compared to the Inspiron 9200, the 9300 model boasts of a number of upgrades like the Microsoft XP Media Center 2005. You also have the choice to connect a TV tuner to the system. Dell have added 2 USB 2.0 ports to the existing 4 in the 9200 taking the total of the USB 2.0 ports to 6.
The external parameters are worth mentioning here. It weighs 8.2 pounds and is 15.5 inches wide, 11.3 inches deep, and 1.6 inches thick. The finish is classical silver-white one, which gives it a business-like look. But as already mentioned, do not judge a book by its cover. The internal features really pack a punch. The 17-inch wide-screen with a resolution of WUXGA 1,900x1, 200 means that the games really come to life.
As far as the ports are concerned, they are too numerous to count. FireWire, S-Video-out, VGA as well as the aforementioned six USB 2.0 ports all make the machine one worth hankering after. The Inspiron 9300 has also got a 6Kbps modem, Ethernet, headphone, and microphone jacks that can be utilized for a Type II PC Card and Secure Digital slot. It has also got a double DVD drive that has been permanently fixed and cannot be swapped. Home and small-business users will be especially pleased to own this utility machine.

Spreadsheets, presentations look impressive on this machine
The 17 inch "wide" screen makes my presentations and spreadsheets look good. I have to design presentations very often on the move, sometimes, at the very last minute. The DI 9300 is very handy and very impressive at such times. But the WUXGA res. isn't what I'd expected. still, I'd say a fairly good product.

bad bad
I am really disappointed with Dell Inspiron 9300. The broad screen is good addition and the speakers are excellent. But the display undoes all the good work. It’s really shabby. The graphics are rubbish even on a non-glossy screen, the viewing is not clear. The contrast and color options don’t do much to make it better. Dell, you could certainly have done a better job. Or maybe it is user error, I didn't rule that out either
