70’s style Nokia 3230

3230 is among the many to join the bandwagon of mobiles offered from Nokia. Quite bulky, this 110 gm handset has dimensions 109mm tall, 49mm wide and 19mm deep and takes up around 90 cubic centimeters of your pocket space.

It has a very 1970s style look with charcoal and silver coloring and rounded edges. The infrared port is visible at the bottom of the right border. On the upper part as expected is the speaker. The left side has a key to be used for the in-built Push to Talk service.

Found on the back side is a 1.2 megapixel camera lens gives you the pleasure of deforming framed pictures. Still photographs up to a resolution of 1280x960 pixels can be shot. You can also upload photos to the Web or transfer them to a PC using Bluetooth.

The display of 3230 gives the option of 65k colors at 176x208 pixels. The numberpad and screen is flanked by a section of buttons among them being Call and End keys, Menu, Clear, Edit keys etc.

There is an opening for a wrist strap, but Nokia doesn't offer it. What you do get is a 32MB RS-MMC card, earphone and a power charger. It is possible to exchange data with a PC by using a PC suite. The Movie Director Feature can be used for making and editing movie clips. Visual Radio can allow you to see information relevant to the ongoing show provided the stations are broadcasting it. The general FM radio is also available with which you can also record music and listen to it.

Among the other features of 3230 include a full Web browser, voice recorder and Java games.

What’s wrong with u guys at Nokia
If I am not wrong, isn’t Nokia supposed to be the leading mobile manufacturer? Then, what on earth were they thinking when they decided to come out with the 3230. The sound quality is surprisingly bad. And there are a whole lot of disappointments; no FM, neither an infrared or zooming features for camera. And so the pictures end up being really bad. After all this, u shldn’t be surprised to hear that there is no autofocus function either. For ur consolation, there is a memory card and one hour video recording is also possible. But that isn’t enough to overshadow the flaws.

Excellent piece
I purchased this phone some months back and must say it’s just marvellous. The camera is the best thing about my phone and I also love red color. The 1.3 megapixel is absolutely amazing and so is the clarity of pictures taken from 3230. The ringtones sound splendid. The bluetooth feature rocks as does the fm radio which really works well. I suggest if you are looking for an amazing nokia mobile phone and willing to shell out a fair few quid, then just go for the nokia 3230

Hey, what's the hissing sound in my 3230?
The screen is good, the Nokia 3230 MP3 is quite loud and I also enjoy shooting, mixing and editing my own videos. But hey, while trying to play the music at full volume, I hear a hissing sound. Can somebody please explain?
