Check out the trendy Goodmans GSR80DAB
A stylish digital radio, the Goodmans GSR80DAB is basically meant for listening to DAB and FM Radio both indoors and outdoors.
Priced at £70, it has got a mesh like covering on the front and a volume control which is too big to be missed. In a way it reminds one of the ‘80s ghetto blaster. The boundaries of the radio have curved edges which gives it a sturdy look.
Among the significant features of the Goodmans GSR80DAB are the controls. Almost all of them can be found on the front itself. The station, display, autotune and preset buttons can be easily traceable around the volume control. Only the not so vital features like the 12/24 hour clock option have been consigned to the menu button. On the reverse of the radio is a line out and the battery hatch.
You can get started by plugging it in just like it is done in most other digital radios. The autotune function can be used for scanning all the stations available. Just hold the button for a second and it will provide you with all the available options.
If being used away from a power point, four LR20 (D size) batteries will be required. There is a handle across the top helps in portability.
To alternate between DAB and FM, you can use the DAB/FM button which gives you the option of choosing between the two types of radio. Ten fixed slots are available for the digital and FM stations.
The radio has a black-on-blue LCD screen. The first line on the screen displays the station name, while you can choose to have the bits like audio mode, signal strength, time or battery level on the second row.

hideous gadget that delivers decent DAB and Radio
Hey, who designed this gadget - my grandpa? For a product so decent, couldn't the design have been better? I find the radio sound quite decent both indoors and outdoors. The autotune function reminds me of TV.

what good is a radio that hisses?
I was quite taken up by its boombox looks. Sort of retro. I'd say the sound is as good/as bad. C'mon Goodmans, this Goodmans GSR80DAB is a radio, the sound has to be... 'sound', if not what good is the gadget?
