Sony KLV-26HG2 with Wega Engine Technology

Sony's KLV-26HG2 is a 26-inch LCD TV incorporating the latest Wega Engine technology. Like most other TV’s, it has got the customary silver color body. There are connections galore on both sides of the television, some under a flip-out panel. The innovative panel gives you the luxury of hiding everything when not in use.

Two Scart inputs are available with one being RGB-enabled. The other Scart can be used as an input or output.

The TV includes component inputs which can be of great use for a relatively new DVD player. A PC input is not available. To play audio from a different sound system, there’s a stereo audio output on the back side of the television.

There is a Memory Stick feature can be used to display photos. Connect the camera, and the TV finds the photos automatically. If downloaded from a PC, it is necessary to point out to the right folder. The photo options can be set for an automatic slideshow. No MP3 playback function is available. Control buttons to change channel, input and volume can also be found above it.

The menu system has all the on-screen graphics being displayed at the bottom corner of the screen. There are additional options like changing the color scheme from the monotonous white. The remote in you’re hand has distinctly marked buttons.

Leaving the TV on smart mode automatically adjusts the picture like removing the top and bottom of the picture to make it look natural.

Worth £900, this Sony product also offers Virtual Dolby Surround with the speakers integrating the BBE technology.

Great clarity in pictures
It might sound clichéd but I cannot find any better way to start the review. I love this SONY KLV-26HG2. I’ve been using this for close to a year now and have mostly nice things to say abt it. The clarity and crispness in the pictures is superb. Sound quality is also good though I think with inclusion of some latest technologies, it could have been gr8. Another glitch that I noticed was that during close up shots the actions on the screen are delayed, though only just. I’m sure u will also find it the next time u turn on this Sony tv. But still, I will say it’s a great TV

the sound is rocks
Any musician will love this TV set. It makes a more-than-decent home theater system. The BBE speakers (does that stand for 'Boom-Boom-Enjoy'?)are simply the best. Watching live show DVDs and videos is a real experience.

good picture but overall a disappointing LCD TV
I’ve been using my Sony KLV-26HG2 for the past month and admire its clear and dazzling looks. It’s really slick, delivers great picture sharpness and above all, comes with a DVI connector for computers.

You can also hang it in your bedroom which is something very unique. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a vga connector and so doesn’t work on my old computer. It recognizes only digital dvi which costs a few extra ££.
