Sony Handycam HDR-HC1 is a thorough disappointment right from the word go. It has the same old crap- a 25 megabit data rate like the DV’s. How bad is this? The MPEG-2 cannot be even be edited directly. One has to take the pains to convert it to some other form and then recompress it. The design also looks terribly outdated according to me. No 24P acquisition should be enough for you to make your mind up on whether you want to own this or not
